Speaking with Face the Nation at the end of March, Washington D.C. Cardinal Wilton Gregory went all in on President Joe Biden. As only the second Catholic in Presidential history (behind JFK), he is on a road that is not very well traveled, and he has refused to take the right roads to stay solid with the Catholic church. Instead, he has flaunted his faith when convenient and forgotten it the rest of the time.
“I would say that he’s very sincere about his faith. But like a number of Catholics, he picks and chooses dimensions of the faith to highlight while ignoring or even contradicting other parts. There is a phrase that we have used in the past, a ‘cafeteria Catholic.’ You choose that which is attractive and dismiss that which is challenging. Especially in terms of life issues, there are things that he chooses to ignore, or he uses the current situation as a political pawn.”
With Biden previously facing censure from a 2022 U.S. Bishops’ Conference (USCCB) over his steps to streamline abortion access, he isn’t the most favored amongst Catholics. Instead, he is looked at with distrust and distaste as he frequently lies about what he’s doing and his breakaway from the Holy Bible.
Our tapioca-brained president is the epitome of a cafeteria Catholic. His picking and choosing of how the teachings apply to life and his way of thinking is pathetic. It signifies that he is nothing more than another Bible thumper. He cried out for God when Beau was dying from brain cancer and when he lost his first wife and daughter. Yet he won’t let young lives have a chance to cry out to God or even their parents. Instead, he just wants to kill them before they can live their life.
